Buying your first dry herb vaporizer can be an exciting time, but when it comes to the pay-out there are a few things that you really need to consider. Vapes of every colour, style, and price are available, and this healthier alternative to smoking just keeps growing in popularity. The rise however, does not come without any adverse effects and it has paved the way for fake vapes and cheap imitations. This is just one of the few things to avoid when buying a vaporizer. Putting in some research can ensure your safety as well as a satisfying vape experience.

Knock-off Vaporizers

You can’t tell everything about a vaporizer from its price and it is possible to get some genuine decent vapes at good value. However, if you happen to see an expensive well-known brand at a third of the price, being sold at a less then reputable site it’s probably a knock off. Not only will you get a below-average vape session from these, but they can be really unsafe. Vaping technology uses heating coils to heat up material inside your product and cheaper versions are known to overheat these. As harmless as this may seem ingredients found in your vape oil (or other materials) can actually become toxic and carcinogenic when they reach a certain temperature.

If you know anything about vaporizers you have probably heard of the horror stories about exploding devices. The most notable causes of this are faulty wiring, overheating, and battery failure. Vapes run on lithium-ion batteries which can become unstable if exposed to high temperatures over time. Low-grade batteries in knock-off vapes use cheap metals in their battery housing. This means that when the battery heats up this metal pops open leading to leaks and explosions.

Simply put, combustion is not vaping and some portable devices that boast dry herb vaping are actually burning your herbs. If you do wish to purchase a portable vape try to make sure your herb won’t be directly exposed to the heating coil. Heating coils are more or less open flames with a temperature that can reach over 450 degrees Fahrenheit. So, if your materials are exposed to this, well you might as well be smoking. Check that your vape has a glass screen filter before buying, this will serve as a barrier between the heating coil and your goods.

Low Quality Vaporizer

Not to be confused with knock-offs, low quality vaporizers could be genuine but they often leave users unsatisfied. When purchasing a vape the saying “you get what you pay for” could not be truer. The best advice is, not to cheap out. Not only do low quality vapes break but they don’t compare at all in terms of performance and once you have tried a quality device you’ll not want to go back. The fact that quality vaporizers cost so much leaves a huge opportunity for companies to sell these at a much lower price. Try to think of an up-market vape as a long-term investment, some even come with a ten year warranty.

We have said it once and we will say it again, do your research! There are hundreds of vapes out there and if you want to find the best one for you, it needs to be a well-informed choice. You don’t need to be a vape expert but there is no harm in learning some of the lingo and educating yourself on the reputable brands. You also need to figure out what you want from your vape. Are you going to be using concentrates or dry herbs? Some vaporizers will even let you do both. Is portability a concern? Do you want to vape on the go or in the comfort of your own home?

Do the background work now and we promise it will pay off in the long run, you’ll be happily vaping for the next ten plus years! Check out our entire range of dry herb vaporizers.
